ANZAC Research Site
This site was created to assist anyone researching the ANZACS of World War One. As the site has grown, it now also includes information and links to all wars that Australian Soldiers have served in. There is a new online forum where you can list any of your research interests, in soldiers, battalions, battles or books you may be writing.
Australian Service Records from World War I
The National Archives is undertaking a project to preserve and make the collection of World War I service records more accessible. Already the project has repackaged and reboxed all of the records to ensure their longer term preservation. Also, all records are being listed on our RecordSearch database.

The Memorial complex includes commemorative areas, a sculpture garden, gallery exhibits, research facilities, and function spaces. Discover what there is to see and do on your visit.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission
The "Debt of Honour Register" is the Commission's database listing the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died during the two world wars and the 23,000 cemeteries, memorials and other locations world-wide where they are commemorated. The register can also be searched for details of the 67,000 Commonwealth civilians who died as a result of enemy action in the Second World War.

Some things you need to know, or may want to know, about this site.... In fact, it is quite important to carefully read this table of contents before attempting to contact the webmaster. We get deluged with queries that are already answered here, or that mistake us for a regiment or a some other official agency.
Orders, Decorations and Medals of Australia
Australians may also be awarded some British awards - notably the Royal Victorian Order and Coronation/Jubilee medals. The Royal Victorian Order ranks behind the equivalent grade of the Order of Australia, and Coronation/Jubilee medals are worn after service medals.
Register of War Memorials in New South Wales, Australia
More than 100,000 Australians have died in war and we honour them with deep gratitude. In this 86th year since the first ANZAC Day, we pass on to future generations the eternal flame of Anzac, a tradition of remembrance of those who gave their lives in the cause of freedom.
