Queensland Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages
One of the responsibilities of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General is the Queensland Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, which keeps records of all births, deaths and marriages that have occurred in the State since 1 January 1890. Records for the period 1829 to the end of 1889 are held at Queensland State Archives.

Office of Consumer and Business Affiairs - Births, Deaths and Marriages
The Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Office is responsible for maintaining registers of births, deaths, marriages, changes of name, adoption of children and reassignments of sex that occur in South Australia. We also issue certificates certifying entries in the registers and conduct civil marriage ceremonies.

Births, Deaths and Marriages
The Tasmanian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is part of the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading division of the Department of Justice. The Registry is responsible for:
maintaining registers of births, deaths, marriages, deeds of relationship and adoptions that occur in Tasmania
registering changes of name for people who were born or reside in Tasmania
registering changes of sex for people whose birth is registered in Tasmania
providing certified copies and extracts of entries in the registers
providing data to Government Agencies and approved private organisations for statistical and research purposes

Births, Deaths and Marriages
All births, deaths and marriages in Western Australia are recorded by the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages. As well as providing eligible people with documents for their personal use, it also collects statistical data for government and other organisations and performs civil marriages.
