Denise’s Social Column
Not a lot to report this month, the Ingleburn Alive Festival on Saturday 15th March, was a good day. We raised around $137, not too bad and I wound like to thank all the people who volunteered to help out on the day.
The Campbelltown Show is on this weekend 4-5-6th April and we have our usual stall, so pop out and say hello, it's always a fun weekend.
The next production from the Campbelltown Theatre Group is THE DAY THEY KIDNAPPED THE POPE, a comedy, and I have booked tickets for the Saturday 3rd May, 8 pm. If you would like to come along please see me at the meeting.
Just a reminder that next month we have a trip to the State Archives, planned for Saturday 10th May, if you would like to come along, please let me know.
Please contact Denise for details at social@cdfhs-aus.com or 4625 4946

Fact Sheet 65
Customs shipping records held in Sydney.
The National Archives in Sydney holds various record series documenting ships movements that can be used to identify when ships arrived at or departed from the port of Sydney. With this information the appropriate passenger list for the ship can be searched.
Passenger lists are arranged by the date, name of the ship, and the port of arrival or departure. Unless you know these details your search may be very time-consuming.
There are many records held in Sydney covering:
* Ships Inward - 1841 to 1963 with some gaps.
* Ships Outward - 1890 to 1963 with some early gaps.
* Customs shipping movement records for Newcastle.
* Customs aircraft movement records for Mascot and Rose Bay
Please access the following link for that information on this fact sheet.

1. The public ceremony in which your distinguished ancestor participated and at which the platform collapsed under him turned out to be a hanging.
2. When at last after much hard work you have solved the mystery that you have been working on for two years, your aunt says, "I could have told you that."
3. You search ten years for your grandmother's maiden name to eventually find it on a letter in a box in the attic.
