Breaking News
The Sydney Morning Herald Archives 1955-1990
http://archives.smh.com.au/
This new archival product is an exact digital replica of Australian newspapers 'The Sydney Morning Herald' and 'The Sun-Herald' for the years 1955-1990. The microfilm for these years has been digitised and all articles, captions, classifieds and advertisements are now fully keyword searchable. Results are returned in an exact digital reproduction of the actual printed pages as they were originally published. The Archive is free to search, with full article and page results available by subscription.
Note: The search is free. Our library has these newspapers on microfilm, so take a note of the date from the search and visit the library to see a full copy. That way you don’t have to pay a subscription to the SMH.
